About Us
Thank you for considering us as your wedding and portrait photographers!
We are Lisa and Jamison Derfler, a husband and wife photography team.
We are both originally from Utah, Lisa from Northern and Jamison from Southern. We met after Jamison moved to SLC to attend school at the University of Utah. We were married in the summer of 2001 in the gorgeous mountains of Provo Canyon. We moved to Las Vegas in 2004 so Jamison could further his education at UNLV where he earned his BA. We have called Las Vegas home since and created a life that we love.
We have just welcomed our first child, Archer in November of 2022. We have 3 fur babies; two Alaskan Malamutes and one cat. We love getting outdoors and hiking. If we have any extended amount of time without a wedding or photo shoot you can find us in the mountains or deserts exploring. In fact we often do photo shoots out of state in the beautiful landscapes whenever the opportunity arises. Who doesn’t want an excuse to get away? Lol.
We also love traveling! From exploring tropical beaches and ancient ruins to cross country road trips, we love it all! We bought an old travel trailer in 2019 in pursuit of a dream to drive cross country and explore more of what our great country has to offer. We made our way from Las Vegas, to North Carolina, up the coast to Maine and then all the way back home, a 7700 mile trip in a months time! We explored the Ozarks, Smoky Mountains, the Atlantic Ocean, Acadia National Park, Mt. Washington, and even the great plains where we took cover from a tornado. It was a trip full of firsts, amazing moments and creating lifetime memories with each other and our dogs.
Through the years we have both worked for other photography and video companies. In 2010 we finally had the opportunity to follow our dreams and we opened Moxie Studio. We have loved being business owners and the freedom it affords us, both creatively and in our personal life. We love getting to know our clients and forming friendships with them, continuing to document their milestones and stories as they unfold is an amazing honor.
